Chitosante (Chito) is a polyester fabric made with chitosan, biomass from crab or shrimp shells, combined with textile fibres. It is antibacterial, odor resisting, moisture wicking, breathable, fast-drying, anti-static, pill resistant and has UV protection UPF 50, blocking 97.5% or more of your skin’s UV radiation exposure. Chitosan treatment is a versatile biopolymer with unique properties. It is nontoxic, biodegradable and biocompatible (ChitoSanté is entirely safe for people with shellfish allergies because it is non-protein base).

The resulting fabric is stretchy, soft, and breathable. Chitosante is also naturally much more hygienic than other fabrics: it is anti-bacterial, odor-resistant, and non-toxic. Machine wash and tumble dry this wrinkle-free and static-free fabric that never needs to be ironed. 

Note: This high count Chitosante Extreme Jersey is a bit heavier weight and has more compression than our Mid weight Chitosante Jersey.
